By using our services — whether at a clinic, via WhatsApp, or through our website — you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

SugarCARE Clinics is operated by HomoRx Healthtech Pvt Ltd, a company registered in India. Our registered address is Thottupadath Valappil, 71/A–71/D, Ward No. 14, Vattamkulam, Malappuram, Ponnani, Kerala 679578.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to deliver safe, effective care:

  • Identity & contact: Name, phone number, email address, age, gender.
  • Health information: HbA1c levels, fasting blood sugar, medical history, current medications, body weight, complication status, and other information you share with your doctor or coordinator.
  • Programme information: The programme you enrol in, appointment records, lab results, and care plan notes.
  • Communication records: WhatsApp messages between you and your coordinator (used only for care delivery).
  • Billing information: Payment method and transaction records. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Website usage: Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited). No third-party tracking pixels are used on this site.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver your programme — consultations, lab tracking, coordinator follow-ups, medication reviews.
  • To communicate with you via WhatsApp, phone, or SMS about your care.
  • To maintain your medical records in our clinical management system.
  • To improve our programmes using aggregated, de-identified clinical outcomes (your name is never attached to aggregate data).
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations under Indian law.

We do not use your health information for marketing without your explicit consent.

4. Who We Share Your Information With

Your information is shared only on a need-to-know basis:

  • Your treating doctors and coordinators at SugarCARE — to deliver your programme.
  • Partner laboratories — to process lab tests ordered by your doctor. Labs receive only the information needed to process the test.
  • Clinical management platform (Qwikbuild) — our EMR provider. Data is processed under a data processing agreement.
  • Legal authorities — only when required by a court order or applicable law.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your health information with insurers, employers, or advertisers.

5. WhatsApp Communication

SugarCARE uses WhatsApp as our primary patient communication channel. When you message us on WhatsApp, your messages are processed by Meta Platforms Inc. under their own privacy policy. We use WhatsApp only for care coordination — appointment reminders, coordinator check-ins, and prescription updates. We do not send promotional messages via WhatsApp without your consent.

6. Data Retention

Medical records are retained for a minimum of 7 years from your last consultation, as required under Indian medical practice guidelines. If you cancel your programme, your care records are retained but no new data is collected. You may request a copy of your records at any time.

7. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Erase personal data that is no longer necessary (subject to medical record retention obligations).
  • Withdraw consent for specific uses of your data.
  • Nominate a person to exercise your rights on your behalf.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information — including access controls, encrypted data transmission, and staff training. No system is completely secure; if you believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately.

9. Children

SugarCARE programmes are intended for adults (18 years and above). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If a minor is referred to us for care, a parent or guardian must provide consent and manage communications on their behalf.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services evolve or as regulations change. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update. Significant changes will be communicated to active patients via WhatsApp or phone.
